The Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship
Due: 1/27/25 to the School Counselor

2023 Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship: NRCSA created the Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship in 2003 for those students who excel in fine arts and are planning to major in fine arts in college. Due to counseling office one week before deadline listed on the application as the school can submit only one application. May need to organize the scholarship board to decide.
Application requires 2 letters of recommendation, one from a school official.
Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association

2023 NRCSA Scholarships: Students planning to become teachers or other related education occupations, such as counselors or media specialists may apply for these scholarships. Greater Grand Island Community Foundation Scholarship

One application for multiple scholarship opportunities!

Catholic Daughters of the Americas
Due: 3/25/24
-Applicants must be an active Catholic boy or girl who is a senior in high school.
-Scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded.
-Students receiving any other scholarships paying both tuition and room and board are not eligible.
-The awarding of this scholarship will be based upon a combination of academic achievement, involvement with -community and church, extracurricular involvement (sports, clubs, music, ect.) volunteer work and need of the student as judged by the selection committee and officers of St. James Court #2007
-Please indicate whether you have a family member in Catholic Daughters Court #2007 and their relationship to you.

Jack Fahnholz Memorial Scholarship
Due: 4/1/24
Deadline: April 1 st to Mrs. Sorensen
Eligibility Requirements:
Current, graduating senior of Amherst High School in Amherst, Nebraska
Have a grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (high school)
Must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) for the fall semester immediately
after graduation in an undergraduate study at an accredited, tax-exempt school
or institution of higher learning pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree
Have an excellent high school attendance record (excused absences for
activities are acceptable)
Must exhibit a record of good character and citizenship, academic record, good
grades and goals
Selection Criteria:
High School transcript and Resume
Two letters of recommendation from non-relatives
A 200-word personal statement explaining the applicant's personal, educational
and career goals, why they are applying for the scholarship and how they
personally want to help others in their future
Student has intelligence, ambition and motivation to excel in his or her chosen
field of advanced education exhibiting good character, has scholastic promise
and good school attendance
Scholarship Award:
The award of $1,000 will be paid up to seven scholarship recipients at the
beginning of the first semester of the first year of higher education
Kearney Farm Expo Scholarship
Due: 3/31/24
Applicants must be attending a 2 or 4 year college post high school and pursuing a degree in an agriculture related program.

Buffalo County Farm Bureau Scholarship

$750. Applicants must be pursuing a 2-4 year course of study and students with a rural background that have an interest in majoring in some aspect of agriculture will be given first priority. State American Legion & Sons Scholarship

Several Scholarships!
1. American Legion Baseball Player of the Year Scholarship. $600-$750. Due July 15th. Must have played Legion Baseball
2. American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship. $500. Due March 1st- Must be an Eagle Scount
3. Edgar J. Boschult Memorial Scholarship. $500. Due March 1st Applicants must be full-time students in the University of Nebraska system who are enrolled in the Army, Air Force and Naval Science courses at the University.
4. Jim Hurlbert Memorial Baseball Scholarship. $500. Due June 15th- Eligibility is open to Nebraska American Legion Baseball players in their last year of Legion Baseball eligibility and/or graduating senior.
5. Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship. $500 Due March 1st- Applicants must also be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of The American Legion, Department of Nebraska, or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current American Legion member at the time of death.
6. Sons of the American Legion Scholarship. $500 Due March 1st- Apply if you are a son, grandson, great grandson, adopted son, stepson, step-grandson, or step-great grandson of any military veteran, alive or deceased (if not a current Legion member, please provide a copy of the veteran's DD-214 discharge papers or any other verifying documents).
Hall County Sheriff's Posse
Due: 3/1/24
- Graduating high school senior
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA
- Resident of Adams, Buffalo, Clay, Hall, Hamilton, Kearney, Merrick, and Sherman counties
- Member of the Nebraska 4-H horse program
- Field of study must be animal science or an agriculture related field
Preference is given to applications that have shown outstanding dedication and commitment to the NE 4-H program

NIAAA Scholarship and NSIAAA (if parent is a member)

2. Applicant must have achieved at least one (1) of the following:
(A) minimum of B+ average;
(B) Ranked in the top 25% of class;
(C) ACT score of 24 or an SAT score of 1100 (Math and Reading)
3. Applicant must have participated in two sports for at least two years in each sport
4. Applicant must have earned at least one varsity letter in each of two sports
5. Applicant must complete attached scholar/essay application

Bill Lewis Scholarship Information

The Nebraska Officials Foundation and Nebraska High School Officials Association will be awarding two $5000 scholarships.
Bill Lewis was the past NSAA director of Officials who dedicated his time and talents to improving the quality of and respect for sports officiating throughout Nebraska.
Eligibility: Seniors, NE residents, accepted to a two or four year college or university.
Selection criteria: Financial need, citizenship. leadership, career goals, academic achievement, and NSAA sanctioned activities
Buffalo-Hall County Corn Growers Scholarship
Due: 1/31/24
The Buffalo-Hall County Corn Growers Organization is offering 2 $750 scholarships for seniors who plan on attending a post-secondary institution and major in an agricultural related field. Their parent/guardian must be a member of the Buffalo-Hall County Corn Growers. The NeCGA also offers 5 $2,000 scholarships. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be a member or the child of a member of the NeCGA. Students must be pursuing a degree in an agricultural related field.

Kearney Area Community Foundation Scholarships- Several Scholarships!
Due: Application opens 2/1.
1. McKenna's Rae of Hope Scholarship- $1,000 Must be going into a mental health field in college- Deadline April 1st
2. Troy & Kay Bauer Scholarship- $1,050 Must be majoring in agricultural or medical field. (Local Application Deadline TBA)
3. Arthur E. Klinkacek Promise Scholarship- $10,000 Must be going to a 2 or 4 year college in Nebraska and show financial need. Must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and a maximum 3.5 GPA. Deadline: April 1st
4. Charles & Jeanette Mumma Scholarship- $1,500 Must be a current member of the Buffalo County 4-H or FFA program and must have participated for a minimum of four years. Deadline: March 1st
5. Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce AG Committee Scholarship- $1,325 Must be pursuing a degree in an agricultural field. Deadline: April 1st
6. Ft Kearny Conference Future Educator Scholarship- $1,000 Must be pursuing a degree in education. Deadline: April 1st
7. Bruce Blankenship Leadership in Business Scholarship- $1,000 Must be pursuing a degree in the field of business. Deadline: April 1st
8 Friends of Law Enforcement Scholarship Guidelines- $1,000 Must be pursuing a degree in law enforcement or a similar field of study. Deadline: April 1st
9. Mark Benjamin Building Opportunity Scholarship- $2,000 Must be pursuing a degree in the construction trades field of study in Nebraska. Deadline: April 1st
10. Chamber of Commerce Student Leader Scholarship- $700 Must be pursuing a 1 or 2 year program of study at Central Community College. Deadline: April 1st
11. Chamber of Commerce Student Leader Scholarship- $1,300 Must be pursuing a four year degree or certificate at UNK. Deadline: April 1st
12. Path to Success- $1,000 Must have a 2.5 GPA. Preference given to students studying a trades field. Deadling: April 1st
13. Ronald and Jaquelyn Kegley 4-H Scholarship- $570 Must be in the top 50% of your class and must be involved in 4-H activities. Deadline: March 1st
14. Shawn Reiber Memorial Scholarship- $1,000 Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA, excellent school attendance, and financial need. Deadline: April 1st

Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce- Several Scholarships!

ALL Chamber of Commerce scholarships will lead you to the Kearney Area Community Foundation login for the applications. Kearney Area Community Foundation applications open 2/1
1. Ag Committee Scholarship- $1,325. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Agriculture or related field. 2 letters of recommendation required.
2. Bruce Blankenship Leadership in Business Scholarship- $1,000. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in the field of business. 2 letters of recommendation required
3. Friends of Law Enforcement- $1,000. Applicants must be pursuing a career in law enforcement or a similar field. 2 letters of recommendation required
4. Mark Benjamin Building Opportunity Scholarship- $2,300. Applicant must be planning on attending a two-year college or trade school to pursue a career in the construction trades industry. 2 letters of recommendation required.
5. Student Leaders Scholarships- $1,300 will be awarded to a student planning to attend UNK. $700 will be awarded to a student planning to attend CCC Kearney.
Kearney Area Builders Association (KABA) Scholarship
Due: 3/20/23
Up to $6,000.
The Kearney Area Builders Association is offering a student scholarship for graduating seniors that are interested in a career in the Building Industry. The scholarship is $1500/semester for at least 2 semesters but no more than 4 semesters.

Students must attend a two-year program acquiring an associate degree in a construction trade at Central Community College, Mid-Plains Community College – North Platte, or Southeast Community College – Milford, or enrolled in a four-year program in Construction Management at University of Nebraska - Kearney.

Trails & Rails Scholarship

The Buffalo County Historical Society is offering a $500 scholarship for seniors who plan on attending CCC or UNK. Application will include a resume and an essay. Essay should be 500-1,500 words and the topic needs to be over a historical building/structure in Buffalo County. There is no application link! Just your essay and resume. Turn in to Mrs. Sorensen
Dads, Lads, and Lassies Area Scholarship Offer
Due: 4/15/21
The Dads, Lads, and Lassies of Litchfield, along with Pastshooters of the same organization are offering two scholarships to be given to two different graduating seniors from the area. The scholarships would encourage, but not require, that the applicant desire to pursue a career in a wildlife-related field.
